Hear Carols from the 13th and 14th Centuries During This Symphonic Concert
Next Friday, experience one of the best family-friendly holiday concerts in Dallas! Fall Into Winter features all six choruses in a performance highlighting pieces from the winter season, including classical choral masterpieces and holiday favorites. It’s all happening November 30th at Meyerson Symphony Center.
Fall into Winter will feature music of the Renaissance and Baroque time periods, as well as many traditional holiday favorites. In addition to the music of J. S. Bach, audiences will hear the beautiful O Magnum Mysterium by Tómas Luis de Victoria, carols from the 13th and 14th centuries, and William Mathias’ setting of the Renaissance text Salvator Mundi. Our guest artist interlude will feature members of the Dallas Bach Society, including James Richman, harpsichord.
Now in its 22nd season, CCGD is one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious youth choral programs. The Chorus Program has grown to encompass six ensembles, offering a multi-tiered, sequential choral arts curriculum for children and youth ages 8-18.
CCGD enrolls more than 450 students each year, drawn from 53 communities across greater Dallas spanning from Gunter to Waxahachie, an 80-mile distance. Through concert performances, guest appearances, and community engagement programs, CCGD shares choral music with more than 32,000 Dallas residents. CCGD also performs annually on television broadcasts, reaching an estimated 400,000 viewers.
